Twice, Kim Deming fell to the ground during her pole vaulting attempts in her time at Cabrillo High – feeling the discomfort of the concrete instead of a soft-landing spot from the pole vault pad.
But Deming said there were no injuries – nor her agonizing in pain on those botched attempts. Because as the future CHS graduate put it: “You land on your feet and get right back up.”
