IN his last athletics competition as an Under 17, Ed Borrmann achieved his ambition to break the county pole vault record for this age group when he cleared 3.92m (12-9) at the Biggleswade Open Meeting at the weekend.
This was also a Ryston age group and all-comers club record, and a fitting reward for his hard work and persistence all season. At the same meeting, Aaron Raine clocked a personal best (PB) time of 12.1 secs for the 100 metres, and ran a 57.4 400m, while his sister Michaela ran 14.2 for the 100m and 31.0 for 200m.
These two young athletes have also put in a season of committed competition in open meetings as well as competing for the club in various leagues.
