Sky Hall won a silver medal at the state meet as a sophomore before clearing a personal-best of 12 feet to win the gold last season.
She’s come a long way since she began vaulting as a 68-pound seventh-grader in a rodeo arena in Wellington.
“It’s an indescribable feeling about pole vaulting,” she said. “Even if you’re, like, cheerleading and you’re up in the air, it’s not the same feeling as jumping 12 to 13 feet in the air and that feeling of falling. You just can’t find that anywhere else.”
