On August 27, American pole vaulter Sam Kendricks continued his winning streak at the IAAF World Challenge meeting that took place at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin.

Kendricks won first place by clearing 5.86 meters. Ironically enough, Polish pole vaulter Piotr Lisek and Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, who earned the silver and bronze medals at the IAAF World Championships in London, came in second and third place, thus repeating the same positions. Lisek successfully jumped over 5.81 meters, while Lavillenie cleared 5.71 meters respectively.
