Rivervault athletes share their strategies to pole vaulting

Day two of the Rivervault competition kicked off at Riverfest on Saturday morning at 10 am. Many athletes agreeing that this competition is more fun and relaxed than the events they compete in throughout the year.

The first event was the men’s competition for those competing at under 12 feet 6 inches. It was a tight race, but St. Paul’s Marshall Jeppeson was the last one standing as he cleared 13 feet. Jeppeson has been pole vaulting for 7 years and shares the most important skill.
