Paige Sommers is way past the phenom phase.

Just three months into her prep career, the Westlake High freshman track and field athlete has proven she’s a pole vault superstar.

The 5-foot-10 freshman shattered a school record in her high school debut at the Simi Valley All-Comers meet on Jan. 27 by clearing 11 feet, 1 inch in the pole vault. The old record, set by Meredith Perry in 1999, was 10-6.
