Russians name Putin, Yakovlev and Isinbayeva People of the Year

Russia’s Public Opinion Foundation (FOM) has released the rating of the country’s most prominent policy makers, scientists, athletes and cultural figures in a bid to determine the Person of the Year. According to the survey, President Vladimir Putin has been deemed the best Russian politician of 2013 by 32 percent of votes, compared to 26 percent last year. The poll was conducted on December 7 and 8 among 1,500 people in Russia’s 43 regions, including a hundred of settlements.
