Girls defending champion Payton Williams of Bridgeport again dominated the sprint events, but St. Charles junior Mikayla Williams mastered the field events to edge Williams for girls MVP honors.
Williams won the long jump (16-5) and pole vault (9-6), adding a first as the anchor for St. Charles’ winning 400 relay team (:50.57). Williams added a 5-foot jump in the high jump, tying with Freeland freshman Kaela Gregory and Swan Valley’s Kelsey Landra. Gregory claimed first place on the tie-breaker.
