When it came to the New Balance Nationals track and field meet, Emily Savage was not sure what to expect.
The Weston High senior, who will attend the University of Oklahoma next year, was again trying for a personal-best height in the pole vault, something she has already accomplished this spring. While she did not actually vault her highest she accomplished something else for her efforts.
Savage, who has placed first in the pole vault in every meet this spring, kept her unbeaten streak alive. A height of 12 feet, 10.75 inches was good for first place on Saturday, June 15, at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University in Greensboro.
