Schwab wins pole vault at Arcaro meet with 12-0 vault

Syracuse — Skaneateles indoor track and field senior Carson Schwab is fast emerging as a season-long favorite in the pole vault.Schwab proved this point by winning his first event of the season during Wednesday night’s John Arcaro Memorial Invitational at SRC Arena.

Having tied Cicero-North Syracuse’s Cameron LaBarge and Jamesville-DeWitt’s Zach Liebmann the week before at the Jack Morse Relays, each clearing 11 feet 6 inches, Schwab gained the most in the Arcaro meet.It turned into a close battle between Schwab and Liverpool’s Travis Chewning-Kulick. But Schwab edged out in front by clearing 12 feet, three inches better than Chewning-Kulick’s 11’9”. Corey Vollmer (East Syracuse-Minoa) and Noah Paccia (Tully) shared third with 11’ .
