Sondre Guttormsen, a senior at Princeton University, has been named to the 2023 watch list for The Bowerman, the highest honor in collegiate track and field. Guttormsen, who was a semifinalist for The Bowerman at the end of the 2022 Outdoor season, is one of just ten athletes on the official 2023 preseason watch list and the third man in Princeton history to be named to the list.
Guttormsen has had a decorated career at Princeton, earning the title of 2022 NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Champion for Pole Vault, First-Team All-American Pole Vaulter (Indoor, Outdoor), Ivy League Champion for Pole Vault (Indoor, Outdoor) and Bowerman Semifinalist (Outdoor 2022). He has also represented Norway at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
Guttormsen’s success is not just limited to his collegiate achievements, but also his performance on the global stage. As a pole vaulter, he is known for his focus, determination, and dedication to his craft. The Princeton men’s track and field team has only competed in two meets this season, but Guttormsen will have many more opportunities to showcase his talents and athleticism in 2023, including the National Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nevada, and the Indoor Ivy League Heptagonal Championships at Dartmouth College. With his impressive track record, Guttormsen is a rising star in the world of track and field.
