Sergei Bubka Jnr, a tennis player ranked 186th in the world, and son of pole vaulting legend Sergei Snr, has been seriously injured in a fall from the third floor of an apartment building in Paris.According to French outlet rmcsport.fr Bubka, who dates Belarusian world no1 Victoria Azarenka, sustained multiple fractures after falling from his friend’s flat on Avenue de Camoens at 7am on Thursday morning.
The accident occurred when Bubka found himself locked in a bathroom. He tried to reach the next room through a window but lost his balance and fell.The 25 year-old was rushed to Georges Pompidou hospital and his condition is said to be non life-threateningHis father Sergei Snr, is considered to be best pole vaulter in history having broken the world record 35 times.He was also the first to clear 6.0m and the only (as of July 2012) to clear 6.10m (20ft).
