John Jacob, student of St. Teresa’s Higher Secondary School, Vadakkankulam, won gold medal in triple jump and silver medal in pole-vault in the senior section in the State-level sports meet held at Coimbatore recently.
Over 2,000 students from all the districts of Tamil Nadu participated in the 56th State-level sports meet between January 3 and 5.
While he cleared 13.84 meter in the triple jump to come first, Mr. Jacob scaled 2.90 meter in pole-vault. He will represent the State in these events in the national-level meet to be held shortly.
School correspondent Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Rajan and headmistress Justus felicitated the student and the physical education teacher Deva Shekar in a simple function held at the school recently.
