Teacher, student recovering after gust blows pole vault cover on pair at NZ athletics championships

A teacher and student who were seriously injured by a 2-tonne metal structure while watching a secondary schools athletics event are on the road to recovery.

Both from Christchurch, they had come to Wellington to watch the New Zealand Secondary Schools Athletics Association championships at Newtown Park when a strong gust of wind flipped the pole vault cover onto them.
