Texas Tech junior Drew McMichael jumped 17 feet, 4.5 inches to finish 13th in the country in the men’s pole vault Wednesday at the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
South Dakota sophomore Chris Nilsen won the national title when he cleared 19-1.5 to win the event by nearly a foot.
