LINCOLN – The Cornhusker State Games (CSG) wrapped up competition last weekend at several different venues around the capitol city.
Five vaulters who are currently competing for the Heartland Huskies or have graduated or live in the Henderson area won their events in their age groups at the State Games.
Former Class C State Champion Taylor Janzen cleared 9-6 to win the open vault in the women’s division, while Michael Brune a graduate of Heartland as well, won the Men’s Open with an effort of 11-6. In the Intermediate Girls, Tiereny Casper who will be a junior at Heartland this fall took the top spot.
The Men’s 35-39 Division saw Corbin Tessman end in a tie with Latigo Munson of Omaha as both finished with a height of 11-6. In the 45-49 age group, Brian Janzen went over the bar at 11-6 to win the event.
The group of vaulters worked out every Tuesday night in Henderson as a team preparing for the State Games.
Some of the results did not indicate in what place the contestant finished so some of the results may just reflect that they competed. At the same time some of the results did not reflect the city the contestant was from.
These are not full results and more results of area competitors will be published during the next several days.
