Landau, who holds the outdoor Bergen County record in the pole vault at 15-7 1/2, became the third New Jersey vaulter this season over the 15-foot barrier when he cleared it on his first attempt to win the Marine Corps Classic in his second meet of the year.
“I’m actually more excited about the PR I had in the 55 hurdles (8.18) than I am about clearing 15 feet indoors,” said Landau, who has signed to compete at Northeastern University next year. “That’s because I went a lot higher outdoors last spring.”
