One of the best high school pole-vaulters in Minnesota history, Calvin Ciganik, saw his career end with three failed attempts at the Section 5AAA meet Wednesday.
Rather than add to the state gold medal he won as a sophomore and the silver he won as a junior, Ciganik didn’t qualify for his last state meet.
“It’s all right. I’ll move on. I’ve still got a lot to look forward to,” said Ciganik, who will continue in the sport at the United States Air Force Academy.
