Four-day ticket packages on sale for 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials

EUGENE, Ore. – Ticket sales for the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field at historic Hayward Field are ahead of pace over the previous two editions (2008, 2012), and event organizers are doing their best to make it easier than ever to attend the meet.

For the first time ever, a limited number of four-day ticket packages will go on sale to the public on Feb. 15. The maximum number of four-day ticket packages that can be purchased is six. They are available in three different price categories (additional fees may apply):

July 1-4 and July 7-10

  • Yellow level: Section U ($300)
  • Black level: Sections S, T ($266)
  • Red level: Sections J, K ($168)

The 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials will be held July 1-10.

There will be four days of competition, two rest days and four more days of competition. The top three finishers in each event will represent Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

As a special treat, two events – the men’s and women’s combined 20K race walk and the men’s and women’s hammer throw – will be contested outside of the main competition window. Each of those events will be free of charge.

The combined men’s and women’s 20K race walk will kick off the U.S. Olympic Trials on June 30. The 2K loop course will begin and end near the steps of the State Capitol building in Salem.

And, for the first time in history, the hammer throw will be contested inside Hayward Field on July 6, one of the two rest days. Women’s qualifying begins at 1 p.m., and the finals are set for 3 p.m. Men’s qualifying starts at 5 p.m., followed by the finals at 7 p.m.
