U.S. pole vaulter sells all of his Nike gear on eBay after company drops him for covering swoosh logo with tape at competition

The swoosh is gone.

U.S. pole vaulter Brad Walker has begun selling every single item of Nike clothing he owns on eBay after the company abruptly halted sponsorship negotiations with the athlete because he taped over their iconic swoosh logo during an international competition.

Walker who is the American record holder in the pole vault, says the tape was not a jab at Nike, but a means of keeping the shoes on his feet at last week’s world track and field championships in Moscow.

For months, Walker had been negotiating with Nike about the size of the sponsorship deal, which Walker said was approximately enough to allow him to buy a used 2008 Toyota Prius.
