PORTLAND, Ore. – Uber, a worldwide ridesharing service, will be a National Supplier for the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016, it was announced today. The four-day meet will be held March 17-20 in the Oregon Convention Center.

“We’re excited to partner with Uber on safe and reliable rides as athletes and spectators from around the globe descend on Portland,” said TrackTown USA President Vin Lananna.

In addition to providing rides to thousands of spectators traveling to and from the Oregon Convention Center, Uber will assist with athlete transportation throughout the event. The ridesharing service and Local Organizing Committee have arranged for dedicated pick-up and drop-off points near the competition venue at the OCC and Pioneer Courthouse Square – where the medal ceremonies will be held each night in downtown Portland.

New Uber users can use the promo code ROADTOPDX to receive up to $15 off their first ride.

“With thousands of spectators and elite athletes expected to visit the Portland area, we’re thrilled to partner with the IAAF World Indoor Championships to help make it easier for riders to get to and from events safely and reliably at the push of a button,” said Bryce Bennett, Uber’s general manager in Oregon.
