Utah State track & field sophomore Logan Hammer tied for 20th in the men’s pole vault at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials on Friday evening at Hayward Field. Hammer cleared 5.40 meters (17-8.5) on his first attempt to finish in the top 20.

“Really proud of Logan and his performance,” said Artie Gulden, USU’s director of track & field and cross country. “The opening height was almost a foot higher than he’s ever started and he handled it really well. To get 20th at the Olympic trials as a sophomore is incredible and Logan should be very proud of his performance.”
