VAULTER VAULTER

Vaulter seeking 1st SHS gold since 1987

Last May, Benji Brokenshire squared off against the top pole vaulters in 4A in Austin at the state meet.
He finished seventh there, clearing 14 feet, 6 inches and barely missing 15-0.
This year, the junior has earned a trip back to Mike A. Myers Stadium on the UT campus.

Now competing in 3A and obliterating the competition this track and field season, the Porcupine returns to Austin as the top seed with a seven-inch advantage over his nearest competitors.
Of this year’s 3A field, only one competed at state in 2012; China Springs’ Hunter Webb who finished fifth at 14-6.
