Wagner’s Jaden Peters sets new South Dakota pole vault record

With a vault of 16 feet, 1 1/2 inches, Peters broke the state high school record in the pole vault at the Little Missouri Valley Conference meet Tuesday. The previous record of 16 feet, 1 inch was set by Rapid City Stevens’ Andy Henrichsen in 1995.

Peters broke the record on his third attempt, days after missing three attempts at tying the record at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays on Friday. He set his previous personal-best of 15 feet, 6 inches at the meet also.
