Wall High School’s Anna Pickett took to a different kind of pole bending and earned a shot at competing at the next level in track and field.
Pickett — who used to barrel race and compete in pole bending in youth rodeo — renewed her interest in the pole vault, in addition to the long jump and triple jump. Because of that triple threat, she’ll be competing in NCAA Division III for McMurry University next season after signing a letter of intent Tuesday at the Wall High School library.
