Warren’s Erin Bogard eyes girls pole vault state title

VINCENT — The Warren girls track team will be well represented in the Ohio State high school track meet, which begins Friday at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.

The Warren girls will have no less than three individuals aiming for podium finishes as well as a pair of relay teams.

“We are extremely proud of the girls that qualified for state and this is the largest group we have had go to state in at least 10 years,” said WHS head coach Sally Maddox. “Our goals are to do our very best and hopefully that will be good enough to get us on the podium.”

Leading the way for the Warren will be senior pole vaulter Erin Bogard, who will be making her fourth consecutive appearance in Columbus.

Bogard comes into the meet as a favorite after breaking the regional record last Saturday at Muskingum University in the Division II, Region 7 meet by vaulting 12 feet, 5 inches.
