Paige Sommers raised the curtain to opening week of the high school track and field season with a memorable performance.
Improving her personal best by a foot, Sommers cleared 14 feet, 6 inches to eclipse the previous state standard of 14-5.50 set by Rachel Baxter of Anaheim in 2016.
