Russian pole vault star Yelena Isinbaeva took time out from her final Games preparations to take part in a live Web chat on the Athletes’ Hub on Olympic.org .
Isinbaeva is the latest Olympic medalist to participate in a live Q&A on the Athletes’ Hub from inside the Village.
Olympic fans worldwide were given the rare chance to ask the double Olympic gold medalist and world record-holder their most burning questions first-hand.
For a woman who has seemingly achieved it all, what does Isinbaeva have left to aim for at London 2012. That was Denise Casas’s question as she asked: “What are your goals for the #Olympics2012”
Isinbaeva cut straight to the chase: “Only one goal… To win gold,” she tweeted, adding that she also intended to “try to a set a new world record!”
Noel Nunez wondered what happens after the competitions are over: “Do Olympians party hard after the games?” he asked.
Having had plenty to celebrate in Games gone by, Isinbayeva confirmed all suspicions with a simple “of course,” adding that “especially after victory there is a huge party.”
No doubt, many fans will be keeping a close eye on the twitter-sphere for the juiciest of Olympic gossip when the athletes really let their hair down – especially if Isinbayeva takes gold and a new world record.
The Live Athlete Q&A series will run throughout the Games and will feature many top athletes. Get down to the Hub and ask a question.
